Hi, I’m Olga Wharton Newman. I’m a mama-bear about my own pets. This company started because I needed someone I would actually trust with my own babies.
I couldn’t find that person. Kennels were out. Caging my animals and exposing them to other pets’ illnesses was never going to be the answer. A friend recommended a solo sitter who was attentive and neat, and then she overbooked every holiday when I needed her most. A larger company used independent contractors. Turnover was high. I rarely met the person who walked in my door.
Apps look slick until nobody answers when a sitter gets sick. I joined those apps as an owner and as a sitter. The graphics are excellent. Pets and people still get sick, stuck, or delayed. Software cannot send a backup at 6 a.m.
So I started taking care of pets myself. Other families needed the same thing. We kept growing. I left my corporate banking job in September 2003 to do this. And here we are: 250+ pet sitters, all W-2 employees, not contractors. The person you meet is your sitter. They usually live within 5 miles. If they cannot make a visit, we send a backup. That client still stays theirs. A million visits later, the idea is the same. I built a company I would use.

Laura has held client house keys since 2016. She knows the sitters, she knows the clients, and she cares about the pets. If you need a person after you book, she is often that person.
Ashley
Weekend manager
Ashley is a pet sitter and a manager. She steps in so we do not have gaps on weekends.
Your keys and your house
We label your key with a code, not your name or address. Sitters do not wear uniforms or drive marked cars. We pick up mail, alternate lights, and water plants as part of the visit. The first meet-and-greet is free.
