What I love about this holiday the most is that it brings gratitude into our daily conversations and thoughts. I love it when people slow down, think about things they feel grateful about, and share them with others. Gratitude lightens us up and melts our hearts. It’s like the whole country gets into this meditative mood where everyone reflects on all the good things in life. You know what I’m talking about, right?

Now do this: pet your animals. Just sit down on the ground and pet them. Whatever you have: dogs, cats, birds, lizards, snakes… Well, don’t pet the fish (although I remember a pet sitting client of mine asked us to read to his fish once… but that’s another story!) lol Sit down and pet your babies! Rub their heads, scratch between their ears, do their favorite thing whatever it is! Do you feel it? I bet you are smiling just thinking about it! THIS is what I am talking about!!

We all are pet owners here because we know deep in our hearts that we need them so much more than they need us!! All we have to do is just get still and FEEL it. And here my friends is your daily Thanksgiving meditation from your pet sitting company right there! No need to wait for once-a-year family gatherings to do this! Remember it’s the small daily things that define our lives. It’s when we actually notice the roses, that’s when we know to smell them.
