We cover Denton (76201, 76205, 76209, and 76210), including the Square, Oak-Hickory, Robson Ranch, Savannah, and the neighborhoods around UNT and TWU. Our Denton branch also sits nearby Corinth, Argyle, Northlake, Corral City, and Lantana. Sitters already know campus gate codes, Robson Ranch entries, and the historic streets around the Square.
We’re already taking Thanksgiving and Christmas bookings. Phones 6:00am–11:00pm Central. A manager is on call 24/7 if a visit needs backup.
Looking for a trusted pet sitter in Denton?
Denton sits far enough north that traffic from Downtown Dallas can be insane. That is why we built a separate Denton branch instead of sending someone up I-35E from the rest of the Metroplex. Between UNT and TWU, the historic Square, Oak-Hickory, Robson Ranch, and Savannah, this is a college town with a fiercely independent spirit — and a lot of pets who need a sitter who already lives here.
DFW Pet Sitting has been caring for Denton pets since 2003. We run the Denton branch as a small local company. That small company is part of a big, well-established organization with 250+ W-2 employees across DFW. Every Denton sitter is a background-checked, trained, insured, and bonded employee — not a gig worker — and they usually live within 5 miles of your front door.
We’re not an app. When you book, you meet your assigned pet sitter in person before the first paid visit. That person becomes your sitter — the same face every time. We monitor every visit through our pet sitting software. Phones are answered 6:00am–11:00pm Central. A manager is on call 24/7 if a visit needs backup.
What we offer in Denton
Vacation & Travel Pet Sitting — Whether you are flying out of DFW, driving home for a UNT or TWU break, or taking a road trip, your assigned sitter keeps feeding, meds, walks, and play on your pets’ usual home schedule. Dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, and small caged animals. No kennel drop-off.
Daily Dog Walking — Midday walks for Denton families, professionals, and students with puppies, senior dogs, or busy class schedules. Same walker, same window — not whoever taps an app. Whether you live near the Square, in Oak-Hickory, in Robson Ranch, in Savannah, or around UNT or TWU, your walker is nearby.
Cat Sitting — Litter, portioned feeding, play, and medication in the house. See how a 25-minute Denton cat visit works.
Semester Break & Holiday Coverage — Denton’s college population creates unique pet care needs. If you are a student or faculty heading home for winter break, spring break, or summer — and your pet is staying behind near campus — we match you with a local sitter. Thanksgiving and Christmas fill first. Call if you already have travel dates.
Short-Notice & House Checks — Sitters live near the Denton homes they visit, so a last-minute request before a DFW flight or a Square weekend is often possible. Mail, porch packages, lights, plants, and a walk-through can ride along with pet visits.
What Makes Us Different From Rover and Wag
Campus key fobs, Robson Ranch gates, and Oak-Hickory historic homes are not a job for a stranger with a profile. You are hiring a managed W-2 employee of a company that has sat pets in Denton since 2003. Side by side:
| Rover / Wag | DFW Pet Sitting | |
|---|---|---|
| Who enters your home | A different contractor each time you book | One assigned sitter — the same person, every visit |
| Who they work for | Independent gig contractor | W-2 employee: background-checked, trained, supervised |
| If something goes wrong | Platform “guarantee” with exclusions | Commercial liability insurance and bonding |
| If your sitter cancels | You re-book and hope | Manager activates backup from 250+ DFW staff |
| Oversight | Nothing between you and the sitter | Every visit tracked by a manager in real time |
| Before your first visit | Optional chat, often skipped | Free in-person meet-and-greet, always |
Cat sitting in Denton
Denton cats do better at home than in a carrier to a kennel — especially in a campus apartment, an Oak-Hickory bungalow, or a Robson Ranch house. A visit is 25 minutes: fresh water, food the way you portion it, a scooped box, play, and a look at how your cat is actually doing. You get a photo.
Sitters handle pills, insulin, sub-q fluids, eye drops, and inhalers. If a cat hides in a UNT rental, a TWU townhome, or a Savannah spare bedroom they have never fully mapped, they sit on the floor and wait. They do not leave without seeing the cat.
Once a day is the minimum for a healthy adult. Kittens, seniors, and medical cats need two. We will not leave a pile of food and a full box over a long holiday weekend or a three-week winter break.
Your Home’s Security Is Our Priority
We take a different approach from most pet sitting companies. Our sitters don’t wear branded uniforms or drive marked vehicles. There are no signs in your yard announcing that you’re away.
Your pet sitter looks like they could be a family member or neighbor stopping by. Nobody on a Square side street, in Oak-Hickory, in Robson Ranch, or on a campus rental will know you’re traveling. Gate codes, key fobs, leasing-office check-ins, and alarm instructions stay with the one assigned person. We want the house to look lived-in, not advertised.
Discretion isn’t a perk. It’s standard.
Meet our sitters
You will meet one of our dog walkers or pet sitters who live in Denton — in your home, before the first paid visit. They are a W-2 employee, not a rotating contractor. Ashley and Laura in the office handle scheduling. A manager is on call 24/7 if a visit needs a backup sitter from our 250+ staff. No photos on this page — you meet them in person.
Our Denton sitters work only within a 5-mile radius of where they live. Denton, Corinth, Argyle, Northlake, Corral City, and Lantana are the main areas this branch covers. Less time in traffic means more time in your home with your pets. The person you meet is the only person entering your house.
Natalia
A Denton-area sitter clients still mention by name. Betty N. booked her for a cat named Susi: the cat plays while the family is out of town, and comes home to a happy cat. You meet your own assigned sitter at the free consultation — Natalia is here as an example of the kind of employee we send, not a rotating profile.
What clients say
Denton families review us on the same Google listing as the rest of DFW — 4.9 stars from 500+ reviews. That is the company listing, not a Denton storefront. We do not have a Denton office. Read the reviews, then meet your sitter in person.
“DFW Pet Sitting is the only truly professionally run pet service that I have found in the Dallas area.”
— Donna W.
“Our cat Susi doesn’t mind when we go out of town. She gets to play with Natalia, from DFW Pet Sitting Service! And she is always a happy cat when we return!”
— Betty N.

Denton’s best spots for pet owners
Denton is a unique city. It is large and vibrant, but it is kinda out there on its own — not in anyone’s way. It has everything a pet lover needs. Here are the spots our sitters recommend:
Wiggly Field Dog Park — An off-leash dog park in Denton? YES. Wiggly Field sits inside Lake Forest Park in Denton, TX 76210. Dog owners let their pets run free in this gated park. A fence separates small and large dogs, and there is an obstacle course if “Best-In-Show” is in your pet’s future. The best thing: hiking trails right next door. We don’t do off-leash parks on the clock, but we’ll happily do a trail hike, a jog, or a run. Nothing beats a nice stroll alongside your pet on a sunny day. Surround yourself with nature, take your dog along — and the world becomes good again.
South Lakes Park — Walking trails, a lake, and open green space on the south side of town. Dogs on leash are welcome. A peaceful morning loop for Denton walkers who live toward 76205 and the TWU side of town.
North Lakes Park — Trails around the lake, playgrounds, and room for leashed walks on the north side. A go-to for families with dogs who don’t need the off-leash energy of Wiggly Field.
Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center — Over 2,900 acres of bottomland forest, wetlands, and prairie along Clear Creek. Dogs on leash are welcome on the trails. A real adventure for Denton dogs who love nature more than a fenced park.
Denton Square — The heart of Denton’s culture. Dogs can’t go inside most shops, but the walkable historic square is a great leashed outing, and several restaurants around the square offer pet-friendly patio seating.
Recycled Books — One of Denton’s most iconic spots, right on the Square. Your dog waits outside with a friend. We mention it because Denton pet owners know it — it shows we know this community.
We also regularly serve nearby Corinth, Argyle, and Lake Dallas, plus Northlake, Corral City, Lantana, Hickory Creek, Sanger, and Aubrey. Coverage follows your address, not the map. Call and we’ll match you with the closest sitter regardless of the city line.
Ready to meet your Denton pet sitter in person? The in-home consultation is free, there is no obligation, and you will know exactly who is caring for your pets before you ever book a visit.
Frequently Asked Questions About Pet Sitting in Denton
How much does pet sitting cost in Denton?
A standard drop-in visit is $25 for 25 minutes, one pet. Extra pet is $3. Dog walking plans start at $23. See the rates page or call (214) 574-7387. Unlike apps that add service fees on top, our price is your price.
Do I get to meet my pet sitter before booking?
Absolutely. Every new client gets a free in-person meet-and-greet with their assigned Denton pet sitter. You’ll walk through your home together, go over your pets’ routines, show where supplies are kept, and make sure everyone — including your pets — is comfortable.
Do you have a Denton office I can walk into?
No. Denton is a city we serve, not a storefront. There is no Denton street address, no lobby, and no map pin for a branch. Your assigned sitter comes to your home at the Square, Oak-Hickory, Robson Ranch, Savannah, near UNT or TWU, or wherever you live in 76201, 76205, 76209, or 76210. Phones are answered 6:00am–11:00pm Central. A manager is on call 24/7 if a visit needs backup.
I’m a UNT or TWU student with a pet. Can I use your services during semester breaks?
Yes. Many of our Denton clients are UNT and TWU students or faculty who head home for winter break, spring break, or summer while their pet stays in Denton. We match you with a local sitter who keeps the routine going. This also works for study abroad and internships out of town. Book before the rush — December and May fill first.
I live in an apartment near UNT or TWU. Can your sitters handle building access?
Yes. Our Denton sitters are experienced with campus apartments, townhomes, Oak-Hickory houses, and Robson Ranch gates alike. At the free meet-and-greet you walk your assigned sitter through key codes, gate access, leasing-office check-ins, and elevator fobs. That information stays with that one employee. If a backup sitter is ever needed, we call you first.
Can my Denton dog walker take my dog to Wiggly Field off-leash?
We don’t do off-leash parks on the clock — even at Wiggly Field inside Lake Forest Park in 76210. We will happily do a leashed trail hike, a jog, or a run on the paths next to the park, or a leashed loop at South Lakes or North Lakes. If you want off-leash time at Wiggly Field, that’s a visit you do together.
Are your Denton pet sitters background-checked?
Yes. Every employee undergoes a thorough background check before they’re hired. They’re also bonded and covered under our company’s commercial liability insurance. We don’t use independent contractors.
What happens if my pet sitter has an emergency?
We have a documented emergency replacement protocol. Our manager is notified immediately, contacts you, and assigns a qualified backup sitter from the Denton area. Sitters in nearby Corinth, Argyle, and Lake Dallas provide additional backup. With 250+ employees across DFW, your pets’ care is never interrupted.
Can you give my pet medication?
Yes. Denton sitters handle oral medications, insulin, sub-q fluids, eye drops, and inhalers. You go over the routine in person at the meet-and-greet so the person who shows up already knows the cabinet, the fridge, and the cat who hides in a campus spare bedroom or a Robson Ranch laundry room.
