Looking for a trusted pet sitter in Argyle?

Argyle is one of the DFW metroplex’s most coveted addresses — and for good reason. From the manicured streets of Lantana and the growing Harvest by Hillwood community to the quiet acreage along FM 407 and the equestrian-friendly roads of Bartonville and Double Oak, this is where people come when they want a little more space, a little more sky, and a lot more room for animals.

DFW Pet Sitting has been caring for Argyle pets since 2003. Every pet sitter and dog walker we assign here is a W-2 employee of our company, not an independent contractor or gig worker. They’re background-checked, trained, insured, and bonded. And they live right here in the Argyle area — usually within 5 miles of your front gate.

We’re not an app. We’re not a marketplace. When you book with us, you’ll meet your assigned pet sitter in person before your first service. That person becomes your sitter — the same face every time, someone your pets (and the barn cats) will recognize and trust.

We monitor every visit through our pet sitting software. Phones are answered 6:00am–11:00pm Central. A manager is on call 24/7 if a visit needs backup from our 250+ employees across DFW.

What we offer in Argyle

Vacation & Travel Pet Sitting — Whether you’re heading to the lake for a weekend or flying out of DFW, your Argyle sitter follows your pets’ exact routine — feeding times, medications, walks, playtime, and the barn checks. We handle dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, small caged animals, and the mixed-species households this part of Denton County is known for. No kennel drop-off.

Daily Dog Walking — Midday walks for Argyle families with puppies, senior dogs, or busy work schedules. Same walker, same window — not whoever taps an app. Walkers already know Lantana’s trail system, Harvest’s sidewalks, and the acreage lots off FM 407.

Cat Sitting — Litter, portioned feeding, play, and medication in the house — including barn cats who would rather not travel. See how a 25-minute Argyle cat visit works.

Farm animals & acreage — Horses, goats, miniature donkeys, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and the occasional pot-bellied pig. Sitters who take these homes already know how to check barns, secure gates, and work a larger lot. Mention every animal at the meet-and-greet so we match you with the right person.

Short-Notice & Holiday Coverage — Because our sitters live locally, we can often accommodate last-minute requests. Thanksgiving and Christmas fill first in Lantana and Harvest. Call if you already have travel dates.

House Sitting & Home Checks — Mail, porch packages, lights, bins, plants, and a walk-through. Most Argyle clients add this onto pet visits rather than booking it alone — especially on acreage where an empty house is obvious.

What Makes Us Different From Rover and Wag

Argyle gate codes, barns, and mixed-species households are not a job for a stranger with a profile. You are hiring a managed W-2 employee of a company that has sat pets here since 2003. Side by side:

Cat sitting in Argyle

Argyle cats do better at home than in a carrier to a kennel — especially barn cats and the ones who own a Lantana spare bedroom. A visit is 25 minutes: fresh water, food the way you portion it, a scooped box, play, and a look at how your cat is actually doing. You get a photo.

Sitters handle pills, insulin, sub-q fluids, eye drops, and inhalers. If a cat hides in a Harvest house or a Bartonville barn they have never fully mapped, they sit on the floor and wait. They do not leave without seeing the cat.

Once a day is the minimum for a healthy adult. Kittens, seniors, and medical cats need two. We will not leave a pile of food and a full box over a long holiday weekend.

Your Home’s Security Is Our Priority

Argyle notices marked vans, and an empty acreage house is obvious from the road. Our sitters don’t wear branded uniforms or drive wrapped cars, and we don’t plant a yard sign that says you are gone.

Your sitter looks like a neighbor or family member stopping by — which is the point in Lantana, Harvest by Hillwood, Bartonville, Double Oak, or a quiet lot off FM 407. Gate codes stay with the one assigned person. We want the house to look lived-in, not advertised.

Discretion isn’t a perk. It’s standard.

Meet our sitters

You meet your assigned Argyle-area sitter in your home before the first paid visit. They are a W-2 employee, not a rotating contractor. Ashley and Laura in the office handle scheduling. A manager is on call 24/7 if a visit needs a backup sitter from our 250+ staff. No photos on this page — you meet them in person.

Amy Ingram

One of our longest-tenured sitters in the northwest Denton County corridor, with over ten years of service. Amy has cared for animals of every size, shape, and temperament — the easy ones and the “walking disasters” (her words, said with complete affection). She keeps a drawer of hedgehog toys specifically for her spiky clients, manages a home garden alongside her own beloved pets, and treats your animals like family because, to her, they genuinely are.

What clients say

Argyle families review us on the same Google listing as the rest of DFW — 4.9 stars from 500+ reviews. That is the company listing, not an Argyle storefront. We do not have an Argyle office. Read the reviews, then meet your sitter in person.

“We’ve been using DFW Pet Sitting for our two Labs and our barn cats for three years. Amy knows our property like the back of her hand — she checks the back gate, fills the water buckets, and even sends us photos of the sunset from the pasture. Totally irreplaceable.”
— Jennifer R., Argyle resident (Lantana)

“I have three dogs and two goats. Finding someone who could handle all of them was a challenge until we found DFW Pet Sitting. They matched us with a sitter who has her own goats — it’s been perfect.”
— Marcus T., Argyle acreage property owner

“Living in Harvest, I was worried about finding a reliable walker who wouldn’t have to drive 30 minutes to get here. My sitter lives five minutes away and has never missed a visit in 18 months. Highly recommend.”
— Danielle K., Harvest by Hillwood resident

Argyle’s best spots for pet owners

Argyle may be a smaller town, but the options for getting outside with your animals are genuinely excellent. Here are the spots our sitters recommend:

Harvest Bark Park — Inside Harvest by Hillwood. One of the most popular off-leash spots in the area — spacious, well-maintained, and full of friendly neighbors and their dogs.

Lantana Trail System — Green-space paths through Lantana. A favorite for morning walks and the daily dog-walking loop.

Twin Coves Park — A short drive into Flower Mound along Lake Grapevine. Longer hikes for bigger dogs when an Argyle sidewalk is not enough.

Working farms and ranches — North Denton County still has alpaca farms and working livestock, which is part of why Argyle families keep mixed-species households in the first place.

We also regularly serve nearby Flower Mound, Northlake, Justin, Keller, Denton, and Trophy Club, plus Double Oak, Bartonville, and the surrounding unincorporated roads.

FAQs

How much does pet sitting cost in Argyle?

A standard drop-in visit is $25 for 25 minutes, one pet. Extra pet is $3. Dog walking plans start at $23. Overnight stays are $120/night. Unlike apps that add service fees on top, our price is your price. See the rates page or call (214) 574-7387.

Do I get to meet my pet sitter before booking?

Absolutely. Every new client gets a free in-person meet-and-greet with their assigned Argyle pet sitter. You’ll walk through your home (and the barn, if you have one) together, go over your pets’ routines, show where supplies are kept, and make sure everyone — including your pets — is comfortable.

Do you have an Argyle office I can walk into?

No. Argyle is a city we serve, not a storefront. There is no Argyle street address, no lobby, and no map pin for a branch. Your assigned sitter comes to your home in Lantana, Harvest, Bartonville, Double Oak, or wherever you live in 76226. Phones are answered 6:00am–11:00pm Central. A manager is on call 24/7 if a visit needs backup.

Do you care for farm animals and livestock in Argyle?

Yes. Argyle has a significant number of properties with horses, goats, miniature donkeys, chickens, ducks, and other farm animals, and our sitters are experienced with multi-species households. Please mention all animals when you contact us so we can match you with the sitter best suited to your situation.

Can you cover large acreage properties in Bartonville and Double Oak?

Yes. We regularly serve larger lots throughout the Argyle area, including Bartonville and Double Oak. Sitters are comfortable checking multiple structures, securing gates, and managing animals spread across bigger properties. Walk through the layout at the meet-and-greet.

I live in Lantana — is that part of your Argyle service area?

Yes. Lantana is one of our most active neighborhoods in the Argyle area. Sitters know the community’s layout, trail system, and gate access.

What about Harvest by Hillwood — do you serve that community?

We do. If you’re near Harvest Bark Park, the amenity center, or anywhere in the neighborhood, we can help with dog walking, drop-ins, vacation sits, and more.

Are your Argyle pet sitters background-checked?

Yes. Every employee undergoes a thorough background check before they’re hired. They’re also bonded and covered under our company’s commercial liability insurance. We don’t use independent contractors.

What happens if my pet sitter has an emergency?

We have a documented emergency replacement protocol. Our manager is notified immediately, contacts you, and assigns a qualified backup sitter from the Argyle area. Nearby Flower Mound, Northlake, and Denton sitters provide additional backup. With 250+ employees across DFW, your pets’ care is never interrupted.

Do you offer overnight pet sitting in Argyle?

Yes. Drop-in visits work for dogs who do well alone and just need feeding and outdoor time. Overnight stays are $120/night and suit anxious pets, puppies, seniors, or animals who do better with consistent human presence. Call (214) 574-7387 or contact us to match the schedule to your animals.
