Northlake has three ZIP codes. Which one is ours?
Depends on which end of town you are on. Most of Northlake carries 76247. The southeastern side toward the Roanoke and Westlake line carries 76262. And a slice on the Argyle side carries 76226 — that is where the Town Hall itself sits, on Commons Circle. All three are inside our Northlake coverage, and all three are now listed in this page’s service-area data.
Why doesn’t any ZIP code actually say Northlake?
Because there isn’t one. This is the quirk that makes Northlake addresses so confusing: the Postal Service lists Northlake as an accepted city name on 76247, 76262 and 76226, but the default name on those codes is Justin, Roanoke and Argyle respectively. Northlake is the default on none of them. So your packages say one town, your neighbor’s say another, and neither says where you live. It is also why a sitter who works off ZIP codes instead of streets will get your town wrong.
Will a delivery-style address mix-up affect our booking?
No, because we dispatch on the street address and the assigned sitter, not on the city name your billing form autofilled. If your account shows up as Justin or Argyle, mention it once and we will note it. The Justin, Argyle and Roanoke teams have their own pages, and we would rather send you the right sitter than the one your envelope suggests.
We live in Harvest by Hillwood. Do your sitters know it?
Very well — it is our busiest Northlake community. Harvest spans over 1,200 acres with a working farm, Farmhouse Coffee, resort-style pools, a fitness barn and an award-winning lifestyle program, and it was named Master-Planned Community of the Year in 2022. Housing runs from townhomes to luxury estates, and it is zoned to both Argyle ISD and Northwest ISD depending on where you are in it.
Can your sitter use the Harvest Bark Park?
We will walk your dog past it and around it on leash, but we will not take your dog inside off leash. On the clock our sitters keep dogs leashed, so we do not turn a client’s dog loose in the run — the Bark Park is the most active dog spot in Northlake, which is exactly what makes it unpredictable with someone else’s dog. Instead we use the five-plus miles of hike-and-bike trail running through the community.
What about Pecan Square and Canyon Falls?
Both are on our regular routes. Pecan Square’s trail system winds through the community and connects past Jackson Hall, The Greeting House co-working space and the pools, with leashed dogs welcome on all trails and a walkable Town Square that makes a good evening loop. Canyon Falls, on Northlake’s southern border with Flower Mound, is the nature-first one — rolling hills, greenbelts and miles of trail, and a better choice for a dog who does not want to meet anybody.
We are on acreage off FM 407, not in a master-planned community. Do you come out that far?
Yes. Acreage properties along FM 407 and I-35W are inside the same Northlake coverage as the named communities, and there is no travel surcharge for being at the rural end of town. Larger properties do change the consultation: we spend more of it on fence lines, gates, outbuildings and where an animal hides during a storm.
Do we meet the sitter beforehand?
Yes, free and in your home, with no obligation. In a town that has grown as fast as Northlake, gate codes and construction detours change month to month, so the walk-through is genuinely useful rather than ceremonial. You will know the name and face of the person coming before you book anything.
Are Northlake sitters employees or app contractors?
W-2 employees, background-checked, insured and bonded through the company. We have never used gig workers in 20-plus years. With 250+ employees across the metroplex, we can staff a fast-growing town properly instead of hoping a freelancer happens to live nearby.
Do the apps even have sitters out here?
Thinly, and that is the honest answer. Northlake’s growth has outrun the gig platforms, so app coverage tends to mean someone driving in from Denton or Fort Worth — which works until the evening they decide the drive is not worth $20. Our sitters are assigned to this area, with a named backup and a manager on call 24/7.
What happens if our sitter cannot make it partway through the week?
A backup from the same Northlake rotation takes over the remaining visits and we tell you it happened. Access codes, community gate details and your pet’s routine are recorded in the file, so the replacement is not learning your house from scratch at 7 a.m.
Can you give medication to a dog who is difficult about it?
Usually, yes. Tablets in food, liquids, ear and eye drops, topicals and subcutaneous injections such as insulin are all routine for us. For a dog who clamps down or spits pills out, the trick is that we practice it with you at the consultation and write down whatever actually works for that specific animal — peanut butter, pill pocket, cheese, or a particular way of holding the muzzle.
Do you look after cats and other animals, or dogs only?
Cats, dogs, and the usual small-animal range — rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, fish. On the acreage side of town we also get asked about chickens and horses; chickens we can generally do, horses we cannot, and we will tell you which is which rather than take the booking and hope.
