Looking for a Trusted Pet Sitter in Fort Worth?

Fort Worth is its own city with its own identity — and Fort Worth pet owners deserve a pet sitting company that understands that. DFW Pet Sitting has been caring for Fort Worth pets since 2003. We’re not a Dallas company that “also covers” Fort Worth as an afterthought. We have a dedicated Fort Worth branch with sitters who live and work right here in Tarrant County.

Every pet sitter and dog walker we assign in Fort Worth is a W-2 employee of our company, not an independent contractor or gig worker. They’re background-checked, trained, insured, and bonded. And they live in the Fort Worth area, usually within 5 miles of your front door.

We’re not an app. We’re not a marketplace. When you book with us, you’ll meet your assigned pet sitter in person before your first service. That person becomes your sitter — the same face every time, someone your pets will recognize and trust.

Our owner and manager are available 24/7 by phone or text. We monitor every single visit through our pet sitting software. If something comes up, we have a full emergency backup protocol with over 200 employees across DFW ready to step in.

Why Fort Worth Families Choose DFW Pet Sitting

Unlike apps like Rover or Wag where you’re hiring a stranger with a profile, our Fort Worth pet sitters are professionally managed employees. Here’s what that means for you:

Your sitter lives in Fort Worth. Our Fort Worth branch covers most Fort Worth zip codes, along with nearby areas in Tarrant County. Your sitter isn’t driving from across the metroplex — they’re right in your neighborhood. Less drive time means more time with your pets.

One person, every time. The pet sitter you meet at your free consultation is the only person who will ever enter your home. No rotating strangers. Your pets get consistency, and you get peace of mind.

We monitor every visit. Our management team tracks every scheduled visit in real time. If a sitter hasn’t checked in, we know within hours — not days. Nothing falls through the cracks.

Real insurance and bonding. Every sitter is covered under our company’s liability insurance and bonding. This isn’t a $1 million “guarantee” from an app — it’s actual commercial coverage.

Emergency backup that works. Life happens. If your sitter has an emergency, we don’t leave you scrambling. Our manager activates our emergency replacement protocol, notifies you immediately, and sends a qualified backup sitter from the Fort Worth area. Our nearby Southlake, Keller, and Arlington branches provide additional backup depth.

Pet Sitting Services We Offer in Fort Worth

DFW Pet Sitting Services logo surrounded by various pets including cats, dogs, guinea pig, and other small animals we care for in the Dallas Fort Worth area

Vacation & Travel Pet Sitting — Whether you’re flying out of DFW Airport or heading out on a road trip, your Fort Worth sitter will follow your pets’ exact routine — feeding times, medications, walks, playtime, and all the belly rubs. We handle dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, and small caged animals. No need to board your pets in an unfamiliar kennel.

Daily Dog Walking — Perfect for Fort Worth families with puppies, senior dogs, or busy work schedules. Your dog walker commits to a consistent weekly schedule — same person, same times. We’re not “Uber for dog walkers.” Whether you live near the Cultural District, in Westover Hills, or along the Trinity River, your walker is nearby.

Cat Sitting — Cats hate leaving home, and they don’t need to. Our Fort Worth cat sitters specialize in feline care, including medication administration, insulin shots, sub-q fluids, and asthma inhalers.

Short-Notice & Holiday Coverage — Because our sitters live locally, we can often accommodate last-minute requests. Holiday availability is managed well in advance to make sure Fort Worth families are always covered.

Your Home’s Security Is Our Priority

We take a different approach from most pet sitting companies. Our sitters don’t wear branded uniforms or drive marked vehicles. There are no signs in your yard announcing that you’re away.

Your pet sitter looks like they could be a family member or neighbor stopping by. Nobody in your neighborhood will know you’re traveling. We don’t want to advertise at your expense — we want your house to look like someone is home.

This matters in Fort Worth — whether you’re in a ranch-style home in Westover Hills, a historic Craftsman in Fairmount, a newer build in Clearfork, or a family home in Wedgwood or Ridglea. Discretion isn’t a perk — it’s standard.

Neighborhoods We Serve in Fort Worth

Fort Worth is a big city, and we focus our coverage where we have the strongest team of local sitters:

Cultural District & West Fort Worth — Westover Hills, Ridglea, Monticello, and the neighborhoods surrounding the Kimbell Art Museum and Fort Worth Zoo. A hub for our Fort Worth sitters.

Southside & Fairmount — Historic neighborhoods with a growing community of young pet owners. Near Magnolia Avenue and the South Main district.

TCU Area & Wedgwood — University-adjacent neighborhoods where families and professionals need reliable pet care and dog walking.

North Fort Worth & Alliance — Newer developments and growing communities north of downtown. Connected to our Keller and Southlake branches for seamless backup.

Clearfork & Trinity River Corridor — Beautiful area along the river with trail access that our dog walkers love.

We also have separate branches covering nearby Southlake, Keller, Arlington, Bedford, Hurst, Euless, and Colleyville for pet owners on the edges of Fort Worth. Call us at 214-574-7387 or text 214-360-7367 if you’re not sure about your area.

Fort Worth’s Best Spots for Dogs

Pet Sitters in Fort Worth

Fort Woof Dog Park — Fort Worth’s first off-leash dog park, and still one of the best. Two large fenced areas — one for big dogs, one for small — with benches, water stations, and poop stations throughout. Located east of downtown inside Gateway Park. A reminder: all dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Our sitters love bringing dogs here.

Trinity Trails — Over 100 miles of paved and unpaved trails running along the Trinity River through the heart of Fort Worth. Perfect for longer dog walks with water access points along the way. Our dog walkers especially love the stretch near Clearfork and the section through Trinity Park.

ZBonz Dog Park — A popular off-leash park in south Fort Worth near Hulen Mall. Separate large and small dog areas, shaded seating, and a fun community atmosphere. Great alternative to Fort Woof if you’re on the south side.

Panther Island Pavilion — While not a dog park per se, this area along the Trinity River is a fantastic spot for leashed walks with your dog, especially on a cool morning. Beautiful downtown Fort Worth skyline views.

Meet Our Fort Worth Pet Sitters

Lisa L:

I like working with DFW Pet Sitting because of the variety of furry friends I interact with. 🙂 I enjoy watching and caring for my clients’ pets.  This job makes me feel like I am on vacation when I spend time in different environments. I also like and appreciate the flexibility of the job. Great part-time job for a single mom or stay-at-home mom.

Thanks for the kudos, Lisa!!

Terri R:

Terri joined DFW Pet Sitting in November 2012.  She is one of our company’s most tenured and experienced pet sitters.  Pet sitting is so much more than a job for her.  It’s her passion, her inspiration, her life.  She connects with her clients, both human and furry ones.  She becomes an extended family to each household that she meets.

Terri has gone through it all with her extended pet families: health, sickness, potty training, laughs, tears… She loves documenting her experiences in the form of creative writing.  She is a published author of many pet-related articles.  You can find her work at https://petsitterimagines.blogspot.com/https://terririmmer2018.blogspot.com/, and her portfolio is all stored at https://rimmersportfolio.blogspot.com/.

Terri loves that she gets to have a flexible schedule along with close and personal relationship-building with her clients.  Meeting new pets is the highlight of her life.  Every pet is different.  Every pet sitting visit is different.  No two days are alike.  It never gets boring being a professional pet sitter and dog walker.

Terri is a proud parent of a 12-year-old calico cat, Marbles.  Marles has quite a personality!  Her favorite thing is when Terri cleans the house.  That’s when Marbles gets to explore behind furniture that gets moved around, hide in new drawers that usually stay shut, or crawl into open spaces that are usually hidden.  Daily brushing is a daily routine for both Terri and Marbles.  Watching TV snuggled up on the couch is one of their favorite pastimes.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pet Sitting in Fort Worth

How much does pet sitting cost in Fort Worth?

Our rates depend on the type and length of service. A standard drop-in visit for pet sitting starts at a competitive rate, and dog walking is available at a weekly discount. We’re transparent about pricing — visit our rates page or call us for a free quote. Unlike apps that add service fees on top, our price is your price.

Do I get to meet my pet sitter before booking?

Absolutely. Every new client gets a free in-person meet-and-greet with their assigned Fort Worth pet sitter. You’ll walk through your home together, go over your pets’ routines, show where supplies are kept, and make sure everyone — including your pets — is comfortable.

Are your Fort Worth pet sitters background-checked?

Yes. Every employee undergoes a thorough background check before they’re hired. They’re also bonded and covered under our company’s commercial liability insurance. We don’t use independent contractors.

What happens if my pet sitter has an emergency?

We have a documented emergency replacement protocol. Our manager is notified immediately, contacts you, and assigns a qualified backup sitter from the Fort Worth area. Our nearby Southlake, Keller, and Arlington branches provide additional backup depth. With 200+ employees across DFW, your pets’ care is never interrupted.

Can you give my pet medication?

Yes. Our sitters are trained to administer oral medications, insulin injections, sub-q fluids, eye drops, and asthma inhalers. We’ll go over the medication routine during your meet-and-greet.

I live on the edge of Fort Worth near Keller/Southlake/Arlington. Can you still serve me?

Yes. We have dedicated branches in Southlake, Keller, Arlington, Bedford, Hurst, Euless, and Colleyville — all bordering Fort Worth. We’ll match you with the closest sitter regardless of which branch they’re technically in. Call us and we’ll figure out the best fit.

Do you offer overnight pet sitting in Fort Worth?

We offer extended visits and can customize a schedule that works for your pets’ needs. Contact us to discuss overnight options for your specific situation.

How is DFW Pet Sitting different from Rover or Wag?

Rover and Wag are marketplace apps where you hire individual freelancers. We’re an established company with W-2 employees, professional management, visit monitoring, emergency backup protocols, and commercial insurance. Your sitter is vetted, trained, and supervised by our team — not just reviewed by strangers on an app.
