We cover North Richland Hills (typically 76180 and 76182), including Iron Horse and the NRH Centre area, Smithfield off Davis Boulevard, Diamond Loch, the North Tarrant Parkway corridor, and the established neighborhoods south of Loop 820 and along Mid-Cities Boulevard. Sitters already know Tipps Canine Hollow Dog Park at Northfield Park, the John Barfield Trail, Walker’s Creek Park, and the streets around Iron Horse Golf Course. Nearby Keller, Hurst, Bedford, Colleyville, and Fort Worth have their own pages. Watauga, Haltom City, and Richland Hills are coverage too — we match you to the closest sitter.

We’re already taking Thanksgiving and Christmas bookings. Phones 6:00am–11:00pm Central. A manager is on call 24/7 if a visit needs backup.

Looking for a Trusted Pet Sitter in North Richland Hills?

North Richland Hills sits in the sweet spot of the mid-cities — close enough to Fort Worth and DFW Airport for easy commuting, green enough to feel like a real neighborhood, and big enough (nearly 70,000 residents) that pet service companies should take it seriously. The problem is that many don’t. Most pet sitting apps lump NRH in with the broader HEB area and send sitters who may be driving in from Bedford, Euless, or even Arlington. That’s a long drive for a midday dog walk — and it means your pet is waiting longer than they should.

DFW Pet Sitting has had sitters in North Richland Hills since 2003. Every pet sitter and dog walker we assign in NRH is a W-2 employee of our company — not an independent contractor, not a gig worker, and not someone who signed up on an app yesterday. They live in and around North Richland Hills, usually within five miles of your home, so they know your streets, your parks, and your community. We manage North Richland Hills as a small local company that is part of a well-established organization — DFW Pet Sitting Services, Inc. — with 250+ employees across DFW. Sitters travel to clients’ homes.

We are a company with a payroll, not a marketplace with listings. The person who meets your pets before the first paid visit is the person who returns. North Richland Hills is one of the larger cities this team works, and we still assign it one sitter at a time rather than spreading a house across whoever happens to be closest.

The phones are covered 6:00am to 11:00pm Central, and outside those hours a manager is awake and reachable to arrange cover. Visits are tracked in our software, and if one needs backup there is a documented protocol and 250-plus employees across the metroplex behind it.

Why North Richland Hills Pet Owners Choose DFW Pet Sitting

Unlike apps like Rover or Wag where you’re hiring a stranger with a profile, our North Richland Hills pet sitters are professionally managed employees. Here’s what that means for you:

We’re not an app — we’re an employer. Every pet sitter you’ll meet from DFW Pet Sitting is a W-2 employee. That means we handle hiring, screening, background checks, training, insurance, bonding, and ongoing management. You’re not trusting a stranger’s self-written profile — you’re trusting a company that has completed over one million pet care visits since 2003 and carries full commercial liability coverage on every single one.

Your sitter lives in NRH. We assign pet sitters who live within a five-mile radius of your home. Whether you’re near Iron Horse Golf Course, in the Smithfield area off Davis Boulevard, along North Tarrant Parkway, or in one of the established neighborhoods south of Loop 820, your sitter is local. Less drive time means more time with your pets — and faster response if anything changes. Our North Richland Hills coverage includes NRH (typically 76180 and 76182) plus nearby Keller, Hurst, Bedford, Colleyville, and Fort Worth. Watauga, Haltom City, and Richland Hills are coverage too.

One sitter, one key, one relationship. The person you meet at your free consultation is the only person who will ever enter your home. We don’t rotate sitters, we don’t send substitutes without your approval, and we don’t share your key or access code with anyone else. If your sitter has a true emergency, we follow our published Pet Sitting Emergency Protocol and contact you before making any changes. Alarm codes, gate codes, key fobs, and spare-key instructions stay with that one employee.

Somebody checks that the visit actually happened. Each one is logged in real time, and a check-in that never arrives becomes a manager’s problem the same day. That is routine supervision rather than trust in one person’s memory.

Real insurance and bonding. Every sitter is covered under our company’s liability insurance and bonding. This isn’t a $1 million “guarantee” from an app — it’s actual commercial coverage. We do NOT use independent contractors.

Emergency backup that works. Life happens. If your sitter has an emergency, we don’t leave you scrambling. Our manager activates our emergency replacement protocol, notifies you immediately, and sends a qualified backup sitter. Nearby Keller, Hurst, Bedford, and Colleyville sitters provide additional backup. Because more than 250 sitters are on our payroll across the metroplex, a problem on our end does not become your problem.

Our North Richland Hills Pet Sitting & Dog Walking Services

Coverage here spans 76180 and 76182, the two ZIP codes that make up North Richland Hills, plus the neighboring cities this team already drives to. Visits are 25 minutes. $25 for 25 minutes, one pet; extra pet is $3; dog walking plans start at $23.

Vacation & Travel Pet Sitting — Heading out of town? Your pets stay in their own home, in their own routine, with a sitter who already knows them. We handle feeding, medication, playtime, mail and package retrieval, light rotation, and daily photo updates. NRH residents who travel frequently for work tell us this is the arrangement they trust most — no kennels, no boarding stress, just their pet at home with a caretaker it already knows. We handle dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, and small caged animals.

Daily Dog Walking — NRH is full of commuters — people heading to downtown Fort Worth, the airport corridor, or offices along I-820 and SH-121. If your workday leaves your dog home alone for eight-plus hours, our midday dog walking service fills the gap. We’ll visit your home on your schedule, provide a walk and bathroom break, refresh water, and give your dog the exercise and companionship they need to stay happy until you get home. Your dog walker commits to a consistent weekly schedule — same person, same times. We’re not “Uber for dog walkers.” Whether you live near Iron Horse Golf Course, in Smithfield, along North Tarrant Parkway, or south of Loop 820, your walker is nearby. The John Barfield Trail, Walker’s Creek Park, and a leashed loop through the Iron Horse streets are the usual routes when your dog needs more than a backyard. Visits are 25 minutes.

Cat Sitting — North Richland Hills has a huge cat population, especially in the apartment communities along Glenview Drive, Rufe Snow, and the Iron Horse corridor. Cats do best in their own territory — no carriers, no car rides, no strange smells. Your sitter visits on your schedule to feed, clean the litter box, provide fresh water, and spend quality one-on-one time. Our NRH cat sitters specialize in feline care, including medication administration, insulin shots, sub-q fluids, and asthma inhalers. See how a 25-minute North Richland Hills cat visit works.

Puppy & Senior Pet Care — Puppies need extra visits for housebreaking, socialization, and energy management. Senior pets may need medication administration, gentle mobility support, or just more frequent check-ins to make sure they’re comfortable. We customize every care plan to your pet’s life stage and health needs.

Multiple Pet Households — Many NRH families have dogs, cats, and sometimes backyard birds or small animals. We handle multi-pet households in a single visit. Extra pet is $3.

Short-Notice & Holiday Coverage — 76180 and 76182 make up the whole city, and our sitters live inside them, so a request made a few days ahead usually finds someone. Holidays run on a longer clock. Thanksgiving and Christmas are gone first, so the moment travel is confirmed is the moment to call.

House Sitting & Home Checks — Mail, porch packages, lights, bins, plants, and a walk-through. Most NRH clients add this onto pet visits rather than booking it alone — especially in Smithfield, Diamond Loch, the Iron Horse / NRH Centre area, and the established neighborhoods south of Loop 820, where an empty house is obvious to neighbors who have lived next door for years.

What Sets DFW Pet Sitting Apart from Apps Like Rover

The streets around Iron Horse Golf Course are the busiest part of this territory, and the rest of it runs from a Smithfield key off Davis Boulevard to a Diamond Loch lot to apartment buildings along Glenview Drive and Rufe Snow. Add a flight time that can drift and you have work that does not belong to a stranger with a profile. You are hiring an employee we manage, from a company that has been here since 2003. Cat sitting in North Richland Hills

North Richland Hills has a huge cat population, especially in the apartment communities along Glenview Drive, Rufe Snow, and the Iron Horse corridor. Cats do best in their own territory — no carriers, no car rides, no strange smells. A visit is 25 minutes: fresh water, food the way you portion it, a scooped box, play, and a look at how your cat is actually doing. You get a photo.

Sitters handle pills, insulin, sub-q fluids, eye drops, and inhalers. If a cat hides in a Smithfield house, a Diamond Loch home, an Iron Horse corridor apartment, or a Glenview Drive condo they have never fully mapped, they sit on the floor and wait. They do not leave without seeing the cat.

A healthy adult cat needs at least one visit a day; kittens, seniors and cats on medication need two. Leaving a pile of food and a full box to cover several days is precisely the arrangement that fails when a DFW itinerary runs long.

More on how we look after cats across the Metroplex is on our cat sitting page.

Your Home’s Security Is Our Priority

Discretion is built into how we work — no uniform, no vehicle lettering, no yard sign. We would rather your street register nothing unusual than have our name parked outside an empty house for a week.

Your sitter looks like any other visitor to the house. We are not interested in marketing at your expense; the point of the visit is that the place appears occupied, and a branded car defeats that instantly.

This matters in North Richland Hills, where homes are in established, long-standing neighborhoods like Smithfield, Diamond Loch, the Iron Horse / NRH Centre area, and the streets south of Loop 820. NRH is a community where people have lived for years — neighbors know each other and notice when something’s different. A familiar, low-key presence at your home while you’re away fits right in. Discretion isn’t a perk — it’s standard.

Meet our sitters

You will meet one of our dog walkers or pet sitters who live in the North Richland Hills area — in your home, before the first paid visit. They are a W-2 employee, not a rotating contractor. Ashley and Laura handle scheduling. A manager on duty can hand a visit to any of our 250-plus sitters — the practical difference between a company and an app. No photos on this page — you meet them in person.

Our NRH sitters work only within a 5-mile radius of where they live, covering Iron Horse, Smithfield, Diamond Loch, North Tarrant Parkway, Loop 820 / Mid-Cities Boulevard, Glenview Drive, and Rufe Snow. The person you meet is the only person entering your home.

What clients say

North Richland Hills families review us on the same Google listing as the rest of DFW — 4.9 stars from 500+ reviews. One company, one set of reviews, whether the sitter is driving to North Richland Hills or across the metroplex. Read the reviews, then meet your sitter in person.

Pet-Friendly Spots Our NRH Sitters Love

North Richland Hills has spent decades building the one thing a dog actually cares about: somewhere to go. The city maintains more than 800 acres of parkland — eight community parks, sixteen neighborhood parks, and over thirty miles of hike-and-bike trail — paid for by a voter-approved half-cent sales tax. Parks are open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Here is where our sitters actually take dogs.

Tipps Canine Hollow Dog Park — 7804 Davis Boulevard, right next door to Northfield Park. It opened in 2006 and carries the name of Don and Doris Tipps, retired educators and longtime community volunteers. There is a two-acre fenced run for large dogs and a one-acre run for small dogs, with shade, benches, water fountains, and bag stations throughout. Open daily 7 a.m. to dusk, and closed every Wednesday from 7 to 11 a.m. for maintenance — it reopens at eleven. The bronze sculpture at the gate, “Kids in a Tree” by G. Pat Foley, stood in North Hills Mall before it was donated to the city. One practical note: the dog park has no restrooms, but Northfield Park next door does. On the clock our sitters keep every dog leashed, Tipps included. Off-leash time is something we would rather you have with your own dog.

John Barfield Trail — Three and a half miles through the Little Bear Creek corridor, built in 2014 and named for the homebuilder and developer John Barfield. It runs west into the City of Keller’s trail system and east into the Cotton Belt Trail, which means a walk that starts behind an NRH house can finish in another city altogether. Creek views, genuine wildlife, and enough tree cover to make an August morning survivable. It is our walkers’ favorite route in the city.

Walker’s Creek Park — Fifty-seven acres at 8403 Emerald Hills Way, with lighted softball fields, a playground, a pavilion with picnic tables, and restrooms. Its paths feed straight into the North Electric Trail and the Walker’s Creek Trail, which together cover close to five miles and pass NRH2O, the NRH Centre, the library, and the NYTEX Sports Center. The right choice for a dog who needs distance rather than another lap around the block.

Two details about the NRH trail system matter a great deal when somebody else is walking your dog. Every off-road trail carries small green-and-white markers at quarter-mile intervals, each stamped with a location code that already sits in the city’s 911 mapping system, so a sitter who needs help can give dispatch an exact position instead of a guess. And six of the community parks — Cross Timbers, Green Valley, Northfield, Richfield, Walker’s Creek, and the Richland Tennis Center — run Perry Weather lightning detection, which sounds an alarm and fires a strobe when lightning is within ten miles. Our sitters treat that strobe as a hard stop: the walk ends and the visit finishes inside.

Iron Horse Golf Course area — The neighborhoods surrounding Iron Horse have some of the most walkable, tree-lined streets in NRH. Our sitters who work this area love the quiet, established feel and the proximity to NRH Centre recreation complex.

North Richland Hills Neighborhoods We Serve

Our NRH sitters cover the full city, including:

Iron Horse / NRH Centre area — The central corridor around Iron Horse Golf Course and the NRH Centre recreation complex. Active families, walkable streets, easy access to parks and trails. One of our most-requested areas.

Smithfield — The historic eastern section of NRH with older homes, mature trees, and proximity to the Trinity Metro TEXRail station. A distinctive neighborhood with its own identity and a loyal pet-owning community.

Diamond Loch — Custom homes on oversized lots near Iron Horse Golf Course, with mature landscaping and a quiet, almost rural feel a few minutes from Loop 820. Very dog-friendly — spacious yards and a tight-knit community.

North Tarrant Parkway corridor — The northern edge of NRH bordering Keller, with newer construction, family neighborhoods, and quick access to Keller’s parks and trails.

Loop 820 / Mid-Cities Boulevard area — The southwestern portion of NRH with strong highway access to Fort Worth, HEB, and DFW Airport. Mix of established homes and apartment communities — lots of pet owners who need reliable midday care.

We also serve the surrounding communities of Keller, Watauga, Haltom City, Richland Hills, Colleyville, Bedford, and Hurst from our NRH team. Northeast Fort Worth is coverage too. Each of those cities has its own page, written by the sitters who actually drive it. Call and we’ll match you with the closest sitter regardless of the city line.

How It Works — Three Easy Steps

Step 1: Talk to us. Call (214) 574-7387, text (214) 360-7367, or book online. Tell us about your pets, your dates, and which part of the city you are in — 76180 and 76182 are worked by the same team, so scheduling is usually quick.

Step 2: Free Meet-and-Greet — An NRH sitter drives out to you at no charge. You walk her through the feeding, the medication, the leash, the alarm, and whatever the dog does when the doorbell rings. She takes notes. If it feels right she leaves with a key, and if it does not you owe nothing.

Step 3: We Take Care of the Rest — Your sitter follows the care plan you set. Our management team monitors every visit in real time. You get photo updates while you are away, sent from your own home.

Ready to meet your North Richland Hills pet sitter in person? The in-home consultation is free, there is no obligation, and you will know exactly who is caring for your pets before you ever book a visit.

Nearby cities this team also covers

North Richland Hills sits at the top of the mid-cities, and the John Barfield Trail literally runs out of NRH into Keller’s trail system on one side and toward Grapevine on the other by way of the Cotton Belt. Our sitters work the same way. The team here also covers Hurst, Bedford, and Euless to the south, Colleyville and Southlake to the east, and northeast Fort Worth to the west, along with Watauga, Haltom City, and Richland Hills. The cities with their own pages are linked here. Tell us your address and we will tell you which sitter is closest — the city line has never decided that for us.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pet Sitting in North Richland Hills

Which North Richland Hills ZIP codes are covered?

76180 and 76182 — the two that make up the city. NRH is one of the larger cities our northeast Tarrant team works, and coverage runs from the Iron Horse side across to the Davis Boulevard corridor. Our sitters here also work the neighboring mid-cities linked above, so a house sitting on the boundary with Hurst or Keller is no complication.

What does pet sitting cost in NRH?

A 25-minute visit for one pet is $25, an extra pet is $3, and dog walking plans begin at $23. The rate is identical across every city on this site — nothing is added for distance, and no service fee turns up at checkout the way it does on the apps. The rates page covers each service, or call (214) 574-7387.

Is there really that much for a dog to do here?

More than in any other city this team covers. North Richland Hills maintains over 800 acres of parkland — eight community parks, sixteen neighborhood parks and better than thirty miles of hike-and-bike trail — funded by a voter-approved half-cent sales tax. Parks are open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., which is a wider window than our own phone hours, so almost any visit time you want is workable.

What is your walkers’ favorite route?

The John Barfield Trail, three and a half miles through the Little Bear Creek corridor, built in 2014 and named for the homebuilder and developer John Barfield. It runs west into Keller’s trail system and east into the Cotton Belt Trail, so a walk that starts behind an NRH house can finish in another city entirely. Creek views, actual wildlife, and enough tree cover to make an August morning survivable.

My dog needs long walks, not short ones. Where do you go?

Walker’s Creek Park, fifty-seven acres at 8403 Emerald Hills Way. Its paths feed straight into the North Electric Trail and the Walker’s Creek Trail, which together run close to five miles and pass NRH2O, the NRH Centre, the library and the NYTEX Sports Center. For a dog who needs distance rather than another lap of the block, it is the right answer in this city.

Tell me about Tipps Canine Hollow before I take my dog there.

It is at 7804 Davis Boulevard, next door to Northfield Park, and it opened in 2006 carrying the name of Don and Doris Tipps, retired educators and longtime community volunteers. There is a two-acre fenced run for large dogs and a one-acre run for small ones, with shade, benches, water fountains and bag stations throughout. Open daily 7 a.m. to dusk, but closed every Wednesday from 7 to 11 a.m. for maintenance — it reopens at eleven.

Would my sitter take my dog into the off-leash run?

No. Our sitters keep client dogs leashed for the whole visit, so we walk near Tipps Canine Hollow rather than going in. That is an outing we would rather you have with your own dog. With thirty-plus miles of trail in this city, a leashed walk here is not a consolation prize — it is usually the better exercise anyway.

Is there a quiet neighborhood walk if we skip the trails?

The streets around Iron Horse Golf Course are the most walkable in NRH — tree-lined, established, quiet, and close to the NRH Centre recreation complex. Sitters who work that part of the city tend to ask for it. For an older dog or one that startles at cyclists, those blocks beat a shared-use trail comfortably.

Does my pet leave the house at any point?

Only on the leash with your sitter. There is no boarding, no daycare, no transport and no group play. Feeding, water, litter, medication, yard checks and companionship all happen inside your home, and the sitter locks up behind herself. Your animals keep their own bed, their own bowls and their own routine.

Can we meet the sitter before we book?

Yes, at no cost, in your home, before the first paid visit. She will meet your pets, look at the gates and the alarm keypad, and write down how you want things done. Just as importantly, you get to decide whether she is the person you want alone in your house. Nobody is obliged to book afterward.

Are your sitters screened?

Every one of them passed a background check before being hired, and every one is a W-2 employee — bonded and covered under our commercial liability insurance. That is different from a marketplace, where screening is whatever the platform chose to do and the insurance question falls back on you. Here the company that vetted the sitter is the company standing behind the visit.

Can your sitter give my dog his medication?

Yes — pills, insulin, sub-q fluids, eye drops and inhalers are all part of what our staff do daily. The medication, the dose, the timing and your vet’s number are recorded in your file rather than left to memory. If a dose must be given at a fixed hour, tell us when you book so we can build the schedule around it.

What is your backup plan if a sitter is unavailable?

A qualified colleague takes the visit and we notify you. Our northeast Tarrant staff work a tight group of adjoining cities, so backup is close. Since your instructions are stored with us rather than carried by one person, whoever covers already knows the entry, the portions and the quirks before she arrives.

Why hire a company instead of a Rover sitter?

Because the failure modes are different. A marketplace connects you with a freelancer and steps aside; when that person cancels, you are the one scrambling. We have operated since 2003 with sitters on payroll, managers on call, visits monitored, and insurance carried by the business. Our 4.9-star average over more than 500+ Google reviews reflects one company judged repeatedly, not fifty unrelated profiles.
