East End Trail Park at 3700 Hastings Place and Harris Ryals Park at 2700 Cummings Drive are thirty-two acres each, with a mile and a half of jogging and walking path apiece, water fountains, picnic areas, and a great deal of shade. The overall trail runs between Woodpark Lane and Forest Ridge Drive. Shade matters more than people think in July, and this is where we go when it is genuinely hot.

Stormie Jones Park and Brook Hollow Park — The two neighborhood options we rotate in. Stormie Jones at 2700 Brasher Lane is thirteen acres with a walking and jogging trail inside the park boundary, restrooms, and a rentable pavilion. Brook Hollow at 752 Rankin Drive is nine acres of open space and walking trails with a shaded playground. Both are quiet, both are close to housing, and both suit a dog who does not want to meet a crowd.
