This is Buddy as Santa’s Helper.

He loves these Minties dental chews each night before bed. He comes and tells me it’s time for one if I’m late. We get them at Chewy, Walmart, or Target.

This is Seamus and Yogi with Santa. Their favorite game is the Mad Scientist Strategy Game. It can be found on Chewey or Amazon. Seamus is actually really good at spinning the vials to get the food to fall out, while Yogi is the opportunist who jumps into action when the food hits the floor. I’ve attached a video of Seamus’s first go at it. 😊 It’s also a great toy for helping to slow things down at mealtime. Sometimes the pups like to inhale their food and this helps them take their time eating.

Here’s Purrcy the Lion, ready for Halloween! Purrcy’s favorite toy is actually a toddler’s fishing pole. We tie cat toys to the end of the line and cast it. He loves to chase it as we reel it in, and we can play without the need to chase the toys around ourselves! This “real” fishing pole is much more durable and functional than the cat-specific versions being sold today. You can find them on Amazon for $10-15. Well worth it if you have a feisty kitty!

Attached is my favorite holiday photo of Patches, happily guarding some Christmas ornaments.

Our favorite product is an insulated sleeping pad. I love this for aging cats because it retains heat and is much safer than an electric blanket. Get it on Amazon: Furhaven ThermaNAP Self-Warming Cat Bed for Indoor Cats & Small Dogs, Washable & Reflects Body Heat – Quilted Faux Fur Reflective Bed Mat

Here is my favorite photo. I was buying the little candy cane ears for Kerby who was a baby in this photo. He was so little that we bought them in “Gerbil stuff” ~ And they fit Perfectly 🤣

This is a pic of Phoebe who has become, in the last couple of weeks, a very chill kitty thanks to plug-in calming kitty pheromones (eg. Feliway);
Phoebe has hyperthyroidism, so chill is what we strive for.calming kitty spray

Cooper is very happy to share and put his paw of approval on the “new catnip”; that is, Silvervine. We bought our Silvervine on Amazon in a few different formats (eg. sticks, balls, etc.), but it’s probably available at any pet place in the kitty “entertainment” department.

The Thingamastring is awesome! It hangs over a door knob and is a battery-powered cat toy.

We would like to submit a picture of our cat Xegonie who is now an old man cat and plays an excellent grumpy Santa Claws at holiday parties.

For some reason I feel like you shouldn’t send a random picture of your pet without a proper backstory, so here goes! We rescued Xegonie 12 years ago in November 2011 from a dumpster behind a Rite Aid pharmacy where he had been abandoned as a kitten. According to the store, he had been living in and around this dumpster for a few months. When my wife (then girlfriend) heard his story, she rescued him without hesitation (or discussion 😂) – thus the story of our first pet began. This cat is obsessed with printers, terrified of ceiling fans, and will eat any plant left unattended.
Xegonie finds his forever home November 2011 and is still here November 2023

Fast forward 11 years to November 2022 and almost to the exact day we were asked by a family member to help rescue a kitten headed to a shelter, who we named Arya. When they finally meet face-to-face, Arya instantly fashions herself as Xegonie’s loving, though ultra-mischievous, little sister and follows him everywhere to this day.

And now in November 2023, Xegonie is tackling the ultimate mentorship challenge with the birth of our son Neal.

As for a pet product recommendation – for me, and this might be a weird pick, it has to be the cat litter which is made from recycled paper (RIP Yesterday’s News Cat Litter from Purina). My current favorite is called Fresh News Non-Clumping Scented Paper Cat Litter. This litter windmill dunks on standard clay-based litter in terms of absorption, odor, maintenance, cleanliness, environmental friendliness, etc. There’s no amount of money that would ever make me consider using clay-based clumping cat litter ever again. One downside is the litter may not be compatible with some of the fancier litter box contraptions.

Here’s my girls enjoying their early Christmas present. Shadow is on top, and you can barely see Luna tucked inside the cave. They spent most the evening exploring their new kitty mansion (their old one had seen better days!).

As for products, I’ve been using Ever Clean litter for years. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment, and you wouldn’t know I have 2 cats unless you were looking at them. It’s really low dust, too, so my girls also like it. I usually get it at Petsmart. They have same-day delivery for free, which is awesome because I don’t have to haul 42 pounds of litter around.

Our favorite product right now is BarkBox Super Chewer for our 11-month-old monster, Brutus. We love it because it includes heavy-duty toys that he enjoys and new treats each month. There is also a fun theme every month. BarkBox can be ordered on their website. I have also noticed some of their toys on Chewy and in PetSmart.
