The best part: it stays open until 11 PM, making it perfect for commuters who get home late. One of the best dog parks in Denton County. Just note there isn’t much shade — evenings in summer and all day in winter are ideal. We don’t do off-leash parks on the clock — even here. We’ll happily do a leashed walk at Lewisville Lake Park, Valley Ridge Trail, or through Old Town Lewisville, and you can take the off-leash session together.

LLELA (Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area) — Worth knowing about precisely so you do not waste a trip. LLELA does not allow pets. The preserve is unambiguous about it: dogs are kept out to protect wildlife and the birders who come for it, and the only exception is a service animal actively working. The staff there are dog owners themselves, and their own dogs stay home. So if taking the dog to LLELA has been on your list, go yourself — $5 per vehicle, card only — and let us walk the dog at home that morning.

Lewisville Lake Park — Direct lake access with walking paths, picnic areas, and open space. Dogs on leash are welcome. Great for a weekend outing when you want water views and fresh air.

Castle Hills was unincorporated Denton County for most of its life, which is why some maps and older mail still label it that way. It sits inside the Lewisville city limits now, and it is the single most common address correction we make on the phone. If your street sounds like it came out of Arthurian legend — Sir Turquin, Damsel Caitlyn, Merlin, Round Table, Sir Andred — you are in 75056 and you are in Lewisville.

The city park system reaches well into the neighborhood. Castle Park on Sir Turquin Lane, Dragon Park on Merlin Drive, Damsel Park on Damsel Caitlyn Drive, Hidden Park on Damsel Katie Drive, Echo Park on Sir Andred Lane, Fitness Park on Round Table Boulevard, Almsbury Park on Almsbury Lane, and Berndt Park on Elsa Avenue are all short, leashed walks. North Lewisville (75077)

The 75077 side runs north toward Highland Village and the lake. Highland Lakes Park on Spenrock Court anchors this end, and the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area is close enough that we get asked about it constantly. The answer surprises people every time: LLELA permits no pets at all, not even leashed. Dogs on this side of town get a neighborhood loop or Lewisville Lake Park instead.

Old Town and central Lewisville (75057)

Old Town is the walkable part of the city, and the municipal dog park sits at 1301 South Railroad Street, a few minutes from Wayne Ferguson Plaza and Railroad Park. Central Park on South Edmonds and Creekview Park and Greenbelt on South Old Orchard are the other two we use most on this side.

Vista Ridge and south Lewisville (75067)

The 75067 side covers Vista Ridge, Valley Ridge, and the apartment and townhome communities along I-35E. Glory Park on East Southwest Parkway and the Valley Ridge greenbelt are the usual walking routes here. For gated buildings we keep the gate code and the elevator quirks on file so a sitter is never standing outside with your key in the rain.
